Abstract Art Journal/Weekly Art Meditation

I invite you all to join me in my weekly ritual. Every week, I sit down and reflect on what has happened to me emotionally and spiritually during the week. I light a candle and pull a card out from my favorite deck (Ancestors) and sit with it meditating on how the message on the card corresponds to my inner life. Once I grasp this “feeling of understanding”, I  try to quickly write down the first three words that come to my mind in association with that. Then, I allow. I allow myself to choose any medium, any color I want to express these emotions on paper. Without fear and restriction. This is an exercise encouraging both structure and creativity at the same time. The result is very fulfilling. I then date and name these “emotional landscapes” and save them as journal pages.
